if you like diary of a wimpy kid, don't buy Rodrick Rules! August 5, 2010
I am very into diary of a wimpy kid.But not Rodrick Rules.it's about Greg and Rodrick fighting. I think this is the worst wimpy kid book written by Jeff Kinney. Greg called Rodrick a big jerk.I think he called him that because he hates him. Like I said, this is the most worst wimpy kid book written.

Greg Heffly is getting tired of his brother Rodrick nagging on him all of the time. So,he tries to make rodrick stop.Well telling on him wont help because Rodrick has an extremely embarrassing secret about Greg that he will spread around the whole school. Read this great book to find out what happens. I reccomend this book to everyone who has a sense of humor.
Children Love Funny Books April 15, 2010

This book would not be my favorite choice of reading materials. But children love to read funny books like this. Most children can identify with these events in this book because they have endured similiar situations at home, maybe not as bad as this book tells about, but some older sibling who tells them what to do. Children want to read about things that could happen to them and identify with stories that tell about having older siblings who seem to pick on them from time to time.
If you have a struggling reader or a reluctant reader, I recommend this book to them. After all, this is a book that will encourage reading. Reading skills are developed by reading. This book has pictures and fewer words on the pages than a chapter book without pictures. So it's a good place to start, then as reading skills build, the student can move on to harder texts. Students must be engaged in reading to become a better reader. This book is probably also a good stress reliever for children who feel stressed at school. This is one of the most checked out books in our media center at school.

A Kid's MUST READ!!! April 14, 2010

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules is about Greg and his brother Rodrick. Greg is a bossy, funny and easy going middle schooler. He gets in trouble because he just wants to have a good time. But his dad is ruining things for him by making Greg join the swim team. Greg doesn't like it at all. He'd rather join the water jazz class with the old ladies. Greg's big problem, in the story is that Rodrick is blackmailing him. Rodrick is forcing Greg to not tell their parents about a wild party he had at his house. If Greg tells about the party, he'll spill a big secret about Greg...how he ate the moldy, stinky cheese on the playground!! Greg finally tells his parents about the party at their house, but Rodrick thinks that Manny, their 3year-old brother told. In the end, Greg and Rodrick team up to finish Rodrick's science project. I like the book because everything is laugh out loud and funny.
